1. Farm Worker Tenancy with Remuneration
This option is designed for individuals or families seeking accommodation in exchange for working on the farm. We have two accommodation options available:
As a Farm Worker Tenant, you will live on the property and contribute to the farm's operations. In exchange for your work, you will receive:
This arrangement is ideal for individuals or families looking for a stable income and a sustainable living on a farm while contributing to the regenerative farming practices on the property.
2. Independent Farm Initiatives (Leasing for Specific Farm Projects)
This opportunity is for individuals or groups who wish to lease a specific area of the farm to develop their own agribusiness projects. Projects might include:
Leasing one or more of these farming zones will give you the flexibility to operate your own farm business while benefiting from shared resources and the opportunity to integrate into the broader farm ecosystem.
Integration and Synergies
To ensure the success of each farm initiative and promote the long-term sustainability of the farm, we require that all leaseholders and incubator participants integrate their farming practices with others on the property. This could include:
Farm Currency
To facilitate fair exchange, encourage collaboration, and ensure that all farm projects benefit mutually, we will implement an internal farm currency. This currency will only be valid on the farm and can be used to:
The internal currency system will foster a more integrated and mutually beneficial farm ecosystem, reducing reliance on external cash flow while promoting the exchange of farm products and services within the community. When external sales are made (e.g., produce sold to the public, at farmer’s markets, or through the farm's own farm gate sales), any income generated will be available to the leaseholder or incubator participant to reinvest in their business or pay for personal needs.
Mutual Benefit and Regenerative Farming
By integrating the different farm initiatives through the internal currency and collaborative farming model, we aim to create a regenerative farm ecosystem where every participant can benefit from the farm's growth, while simultaneously helping regenerate the land. This holistic approach ensures the long-term sustainability of the farm’s resources, promotes soil health, biodiversity, and supports a thriving community of farmers, artisans, and businesspeople.
Key Terms and Expectations:
Application Process

Successful applicants will be invited to an in-person or virtual meeting to discuss the details of the arrangement, tour the farm, and receive further information on the lease agreement and internal currency system.
Conclusion
This is a unique opportunity to become part of a sustainable and thriving farming community in one of Queensland's most fertile and picturesque agricultural regions. By offering flexible farm worker tenancies, an incubator program, and independent farm initiatives, we aim to empower individuals to develop their own farm-based businesses while contributing to the regeneration of the land and creating a more resilient agricultural system.
We look forward to partnering with you on this exciting journey toward sustainable farming and a thriving farm community.
Echoes in the Valley
Welcome to Echoes in the Valley, a 160-acre farm located in the Lockyer Valley. We want to provide an honest and transparent overview of the property and what you can expect if you’re considering joining us here. This farm is a work in progress, and while it holds great potential, it’s important to understand that there are significant challenges and ongoing needs for maintenance and improvement.
Current Conditions:
Opportunities and Challenges:
What You Need to Know:
Note:
Waste and Materials on the Farm
One important aspect to consider is the current state of waste and materials scattered throughout the farm. While the property may appear messy to some, it’s important to understand that this is a working farm with ongoing operations and projects. There are a variety of materials—both useful and discarded—that are currently scattered across the property. These include old machinery, building materials, discarded farm implements, and other items that may seem out of place or in need of sorting.
While this can appear chaotic, there is a significant opportunity here for those with a creative mindset and a passion for sustainable living. The farm presents an ideal environment to repurpose and recycle materials, creating valuable resources for farm projects and reducing waste in the process. If you’re the type of person who enjoys problem-solving, upcycling, and inventing, you will find plenty of room to bring your ideas to life.
Creative Recycling and Appropriate Technology Opportunities
Here are some examples of the types of recycling projects and appropriate technologies that could be developed on the farm:
These types of projects are not just about cleaning up the farm—they are about transforming what others might see as waste into something innovative and functional. With a bit of creativity and resourcefulness, materials that would otherwise be discarded can be repurposed into tools, technologies, and systems that support the farm's long-term sustainability.
If you’re someone who thrives on creativity, problem-solving, and working with your hands, Echoes in the Valley offers a unique environment where you can engage in creative recycling projects and appropriate technology development. While the farm may appear messy and in need of organisation, it’s also a blank slate for those with a vision to create, recycle, and innovate. By using the materials available on the farm, you can build practical, sustainable systems that not only reduce waste but contribute to the overall regenerative efforts of the farm.
This is an opportunity for individuals who are not only passionate about farming but also about sustainable living, DIY projects, and the creative reuse of materials to make a real difference. Whether you’re building a wind turbine, a solar oven, or a human-powered washing machine, you’ll be contributing to a more self-sufficient, sustainable farm—one that thrives on innovation and resourcefulness.
Conclusion:
Echoes in the Valley is a place of potential, but it’s important to recognise that it will require significant effort and investment to bring the farm to life. If you’re looking for a ready-made, fully operational farm, this is not the place for you. However, if you’re someone who is willing to put in the hard work, embrace challenges, and contribute to the regeneration of the land, there is a unique opportunity here to build something beautiful over time.
We’re looking for people with a clear understanding of the work involved, and who are prepared to help shape the future of this farm into a sustainable, thriving place. If you’re up for the challenge, we invite you to come and see the property and consider how you might be part of its transformation.
Welcome to Echoes in the Valley where our animals will always enjoy extra care and attention and camping stays are in the wild.
We offer good camping spots for folk that are self reliant and contained. There are beautiful views on the large hillside and each is remote and isolated.
We also offer A single studio hut with a shower, bio-digestor loo, kitchen, lounge and bedroom. It has lights, a fridge, gas camp stove, but unfortunately no power for charging devices. There are beautiful views of the hillside from the loungeroom and verandah.
